PHILLIPS PRO AUDIO's history started in 1976 providing
sound, lighting and backline for live shows and festivals.
Some featured artists were Todd Rundgren, James Brown,
Stanley Clarke, Leon Russell, King Crimson, X, Wall of
Voodoo, Foghat, Iggy Pop, Chick Corea, Steps Ahead, David
Sanborn, Kenny G., Spyro Gyra, Yellow Jackets, Beach Boys,
Tammy Wynette, Procol Harum, U2, Flaming Lips, Van Halen,
The Band and literally thousands more.
In the early 80's PPA started setting up sound and lights for regional festival events.
In 1986 Kenny Phillips went out on a five week tour as sound designer with Robin Williams, which ended in 2 sold out performances at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. Both evenings at the "MET" were recorded and the video won Top Comedy Video of the Year. The live album A NIGHT AT THE MET won a Grammy.

RESTLESS HEART on stage in 1993
In the late 80's and early 90's PPA was thrilled to provide sound for Restless Heart. The 90's brought many other highlights including Ringo Star, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pantera, Tony Bennett. Garth Brooks, George Strait, Travis Tritt, Reba McIntire, Randy Travis, Collective Soul, Nirvana, Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, Joe Walsh and Bruce Hornsby .
In the 90's PPA went more extensively into the world of Theater and Comedy. In 1994 Kenny designed and built the lights, sound and travelling sets for Rob Becker's DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN show for Broadway in NYC. The 1995 and 1996 show run was a huge success and Rob left a sold out theater to go on tour in January of 1997. Phillips Pro Audio has provided production for every show of Rob Becker's DEFENDING THE CAVEMAN since.
HELEN HAYES THEATER 1994-1997
In the summer of 1999 Kenny started working wih Eric Idle on a new live stage show script which became ERIC IDLE EXPLOITS MONTY PYTHON.
Phillips Pro Audio designed and built all of the sound system, lighting, set pieces, props, back stage changing booths, gags etc. for the tour. Kenny also invented and built the technology used for the inter-active digital video and live camera bits that were used on stage. The show schedule covered 25 cities in the USA and Canada over April and June of 2000 including two sold out nights at CARNEGIE HALL in NYC.
